Winner – Anstie Constructions – Glover House

The restoration of John Glover’s House and the exact recreation of his painting studio represent the culmination of an extraordinary story of a client’s passion and of Anstie Constructions’ commitment to seeing it brought to fruition.  Prior to work starting, the House was in an extremely dilapidated state, and the painting studio existed only in imagination and, fleetingly, in just two of Glover’s own images of the property.  Yet from these fragments the builder has peeled back time to recreate the house and studio largely as they would have been when Glover lived there in the 1840s.  The historical accuracy of the work undertaken, and the attention to detail in that work, are outstanding and this project is a model of heritage restoration excellence.
