NAWIC Diversity & Inclusion Training

18/07/2023 @ 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM AEST

NAWIC is proud to announce the pilot program of construction industry specific Diversity and Inclusion Training.

The Tasmanian NAWIC Committee has worked closely with world-recognised expert Caroline Dean to develop the training, funded by the Tasmanian State Government and supported by Master Builders Tasmania. Caroline is recognised as a world-leader in workplace bullying, and specialises in conflict management and prevention, emotional intelligence, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.

What will we cover?

Objectives: To increase participants self and cultural awareness, knowledge, understanding and acceptance of diversity and difference within their workplace or organisation.

Outcomes: Participants will have a further developed understanding of the concepts and definitions of diversity, inclusion, respect, bullying, harassment, and discrimination and be able to apply that information to examples of respectful or inappropriate behaviours. Additionally, participants will recognise and identify risk that limits or constrains inclusive and respectful behaviours and be able to apply strategies to reduce conflict with others.
