RetainHER

Building and Construction Law

Keeping women in construction — and building a stronger Tasmanian industry, together.

Construction needs more people than ever, and women are our most under-tapped talent. RetainHER — a SeeHER initiative from Master Builders Tasmania — helps employers build workplaces where women choose to stay and progress. It’s practical, made in Tasmania, and designed for the small and medium businesses that make up the bulk of our industry, not just large firms with HR teams.

Launched on Monday 22 June 2026, RetainHER brings together training modules, real industry voices and ready-to-use workplace tools, mapped to your Positive Duty under the Sex Discrimination Act — so it’s not extra work, it helps you meet a duty you already have.

  • Watch the launch presentation — why this matters, what’s already working here in Tasmania, and what RetainHER puts in your hands.
  • Hear from women in construction — Tasmanian women on why they joined the industry, why they stay, and what employers can do to keep more good people.
